The WEEE Directive (Waste Equipment & Electronic Equipment Regulations)

UPDATE

From 1st December 2007, all CFLi's (Compact Fluorescent Lamps with Integral ballasts) i.e. they have either BC or ES caps will be subject to a reduced WEEE charge of 3p.

Due to recent announcements by DEFRA and others regarding the voluntary initiative, by retailers and energy suppliers, regarding the phasing out of incandescent lamps in favour of energy efficient lamps, Recolight has been able to amend its business model for the period as from 1st December 2007 enabling it to reduce the fee it will charge its members on CFLi's to 3p per lamp for all member sales from that date.

This reduced fee will not be applied retrospectively to lamp sales for the period 1st July 2007 to 30th November 2007.

MGC Lamps shall therefore be showing 2 levels of WEEE cost on our invoices for all affected lamps deliveries from 1st December 2007, 3p per lamp for CFLi's and 15p per lamp for all other WEEE affected lamps.
